RPG Fanatic: Atlantica Online Video Game Review (Free to play MMORPG)

Review for the F2P online RPG Atlantica Online by NDOORS Corporation, a South Korean videogame developer. The game is set in an alternate history Earth, with the game map consisting of large parts of the northern hemisphere. The setting is fantasy-themed with elements of steampunk. The combat system is turned based; it has more in common with games like Final Fantasy, Lufia 2 and Lunar Silver Star Story than EverQuest or World of Warcraft. The United States version of the game can be downloaded from NEXON's website, atlantica.nexon.net (NEXON is the North American publisher of the game) This review discusses the gameplay of the game, and of course, there is occasional humor and funny jokes! ******************** ******************* Website: www.rpgfanatic.net Facebook www.facebook.com Twitter: twitter.com Forum www.rpgfanatic.net

    @HonestDav There is also the editing of the videos. Converting fraps codec to uncompressd avi so I can load it on my Mac pro to then convert into .mov so I can actually stick it into FCP...takes at least 4-6 hours of time. Then I can actually begin editing, which can vary depending on if there is a lot to be rendered. All in all, I easily spend over 40 hours making one of these videos.

    @HonestDav I also have to write the script for the reviews. Some games require some research into their history. These MMORPGs tend to require a lot of forum reading so that I become extremely knowledgable about their mechanics, to the point I may know more about it than some people who have played the game for years but never delved into the theorycraft (as can be seen in my CoH reviews).

  5. jfreedan says:

    @HonestDav MMORPGs are more time consuming than your typical game. Some reviewers only play them for a few hours and then review the tutorial areas; I played Atlantica for about a month, as I did with CoH since I got to the max level in it. Atlantica I got to 80.

  6. HonestDav says:

    Just out of curiosity, how long does it take for you to make these reviews?

    I'm downloading this thing right now. Last time I got stuck at the title screen

  9. jfreedan says:

    @Dagyo23 Hmm, maybe! I'm not playing Atlantica right now though. I'm working on reviews for Ragnarok Online Renewal and D&D Online.

    Are you going to group with your fans?

    @velocityeleven So do I. :)

  12. velocityeleven says:

    @MegaShadowrunner I love FF10, 12 and 13

  13. jfreedan says:

    @CrazyOneToadette It's not anymore complicated than City of Heroes though it's not as well supported with player-created guides as CoH is.

  14. CrazyOneToadette says:

    i do love turn based games ( quoting Fire Emblem ) but a turn based online RPG? sounds to complicated for my tiny 10 year old mind ( which mastered CoH in 1 month if i may say myself ).

    Final Fantasy is pretty much dead to me at this point.

    If your interested you may find, shin megami tensei imagine online, runes of magic, champions online to be fun games and if you ever feel you need a break from rpgs you could try some 3rd person shooters like gunz, gobal agenda or my personal favorite s4 league. Thought id just share a few games I enjoyed and keep up the videos :D
